If you have recently moved to our state or moved your residence to another zip code within the state, you may be eligible for the Medicare Special Enrollment Period. From HealthCare.gov, “Depending on your Special Enrollment Period type, you may have 60 days before or 60 days following the event to enroll in a plan. If you miss your Special Enrollment Period window, you may have to wait until the next Open Enrollment Period to apply.” 3 So once again, if you have recently moved or had another life event such as marriage, divorce, a birth or adoption, or change in employment you must act quickly to apply within your Special Enrollment Period.
